Ralph M. Dempsey, 81
Centerville - Ralph McKensie Dempsey, 81, a resident of Centerville, died Feb. 6, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of Doris Carlson Dempsey.

Born in Auburn, N.Y., Mr. Dempsey was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force, 401st Bomb Group (Heavy), stationed in Deenethorpe, England.

He flew 40 combat missions over Germany and was awarded the Air Medal with silver cluster, the Bronze Service Star with four clusters, the Distinguished Unit Badge with cluster and the Distinguished Flying Cross with cluster.

Mr. Dempsey was a member of the Federated Church of Hyannis.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Carleda A. Hobbs of East Sandwich and Karen E. Dempsey of Quincy; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
