8/5/2011 3:11:37 PM | I have a nephew that loves to hear about WWII and my Dad's part in the B17 bomber. I would like to know if anyone can suggest one or 2 WWII artifacts that I could find to do with a B17 or Deenthorpe or just WWII airplane artifacts that I could find to send him for Christmas.??? Last year I located a WWII grenade that was very inexpensive and that was all that came to mind...any ideas anyone? A a lady..I have no idea where to even start. The grenade last year he said was a super gift and he really loved it so aunt Jackie needs to try again. Any help would be appreciated. Jackie

I personally think this is a good way of helping him understand what his grandpa experienced: B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th. The game itself is out of print and may not be compatible for a given computer, but is still available for purchase and fairly cheap: The Mighty 8th on Amazon. Otherwise, get him a model kit or a good book. Those might peek his interest. My two cents, anyway. 🙂

8/5/2011 7:44:25 PM | Paul, Thank you for your kind comments. He is 15 years old and was so excited today when I told him about my visit to the Mighty 8th museum in GA. He said he wished he could see it. He lives in Oregon so he is a long way from me. he kept asking me today on the phone where he could get a display box for his WWII grenade from last Christmas. 😛 I told him to try someplace like Micheal's Crafts as I have no idea where else to look. I just told him to measure the size and add a few in height and width and maybe that would work. Any ideas on that too? I will ask him what OS his computer is and then I can see about the game. I think he would be thrilled to get something like that. Any additional suggestions welcome. I just have to see if they fit my budget. Jackie

8/13/2011 7:39:31 PM | Guess what..I took a minute tonight and looked for the B17 game on Ebay that was mentioned here in this discussion and I found even more games that some of you may be interested in. I went to Ebay and just typed in B17 game and the following page came up. ( I hope this works right) http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=B17+game&_sacat=See-All-Categories If not ... just type in B17 game and see what comes up. I ordered 2 of the "The B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th". One as a gift and one to keep. Have a look if you are looking for this type of thing as a gift or for yourself. Still looking for more ideas, but very happy to have found this game. Jackie
