1/10/2011 10:46:59 PM | OK, Peeps. I need yer help. 🙂 I need names of the people in these photos. I also need descriptions of the circumstances surrounding these photos. I.e. what year, was it a reunion? (Some photos were clearly pre-dedication, so some explanations there would be nice too.) Help me out if you can. - /Memorial_Pics/401stSunset.jpg

1/13/2011 4:58:46 AM | Ed, The last two photos in this first set are from the Mini Reunion in England that you attended. Maybe your memory is better than mine as far as the exact date. They are the same shot but I had to take a second one to get a better shot of the flags. I will look at my copy closer up to identify everyone but it was most or all of the veterans on the trip plus one of the wives (I think) who snuck in the back row on the right. Josie 🙂

1/13/2011 5:06:40 AM | Ed, Second Set photo "A" is Frank D. Perez in front of the Memorial taken the same day the group shot was taken in the first set. Counting on you to remember the date. I'm older than you so you can pull it up faster! 🙂 Josie 🙂

1/15/2011 8:07:50 AM | Yea, I got your Uncle Frank. 🙂 And the date is easy for me to remember since it was a day after my birthday. Mostly, I'm interested in identifying the members. Certainly I recognize my father, your uncle, Seder and Menzels but I need some help with the others. Ed.

1/23/2011 8:59:48 AM | Photo 1: This photo has one bit of information about it. It is named "Crawford_1" so I'm assuming the man is the photo is Crawford and the woman is his wife. More clues would be appreciated. Photos 2 - 4 are Rick Kaufman's and it looks like I'm gonna have to smack him upside the head to get him to comment. 😉 Photo 5: (Removed as duplicate. Need to remove from the memorial photos as well.) This image shows some medium shrub growth behind the memorial. Comparing it with photos taken by my sister places it about 2000. Photo 6: This photo still shows dirt on the base suggesting that construction has just been completed. We can also see the tower in the background so I'm assuming this is pre 1994. Photo 7: (Removed as duplicate. Will remove from Memorial photos as well.) This photo also appears to be "pre 1994." The two men featured in the photo appear to be the afforementioned Crawford and... I'm not sure... is that Seder? Photo 8: There appear to be seventeen people in this photo. - ?
- Wally Wics
- ?
- Norm Sisson
- ?
- ?
- George Menzels.
- Art Seder
- Francis King (in front of Art)
- Jake Shepard
- Francis Hoad
- ?
- ?
- Frank Perez.
- ?
- Ed Dana.

There are a couple in there that I think may be Art Seder, but the image is so small it's hard to tell. Josie? Do you have some larger images available? Photo 9: The same order appears to apply in this photo. Photo a: Frank Perez in 2005. Got that one. 🙂 Photo b: This photo is named "Robert_E_Hall," so I'm assuming that's the person featured in it. More clues appreciated. Photo c: Photo is named "Seder_1a," so I assume it comes from him (or one of his). It appears to have been taken in 2000. Photo d: (Removed as duplicate. Will remove from Memorial Photos.) Also labeled "Seder" and shows dirt at the base. I'm assuming pre 1994 just after construction. Photo e: Appears to be same period as previous photo with Crawford and Seder? Photo f: Seder's wife Marion? I need someone to confirm that is her name. Photo g: No construction tracks around the base, so... 1994? Seder around the time of the dedication? Photo h: Shows moderate growth behind memorial, looks to be 2000. People on the right appear to be Art and Marion(?). People on the left I assume are Art's family, but I need their identities. Photo h: Graham Brately and Marion(?) Seder. Shows moderate growth behind memorial, looks to be 2000.

1/23/2011 1:29:11 PM | Photos D, E and 6 are the same image. Photos C and 5 are the same image, resized. From the state of the ground, I'd think photo 6/D/E and photo 7 were from when the memorial was built in 1989. All the best, Paul

1/23/2011 2:37:32 PM | Not any more. 😛 Do me a favor, Paul? You're a member now of the Historical Society? Is that correct? Could you contact Graham (or Knight or Corby) regarding the '89 photos? Maybe they can give us some more information. I'll drop Art a line and see if I can get some more info regarding his. Ed.

1/23/2011 5:43:33 PM | I have added some names to your list of 17 people. Marion is correct which is Art's wife. Also the guy you pegged as Art with the video is related to art and think it is his son-in-law. I'll contact scott and see if he can add names. Don

1/24/2011 10:44:19 PM | Many of the images were supplied by Art Seder. Where possible, I added information to the "Properties" of the image as a placeholder for when I get smart enough to extract this information automatically as a caption. (On my list of things to do). As an example, the photo identified in the below thread as "Photo B" (file name Robert_E_Hall.jpg) includes the following information in its Properties: Dr. Robert E. Hall (tail gunner / operations cheif 615th) May 1992 If you save the file to your local machine, right click on the file in WIndows Explorer, Select Properties, View the Summary Tab, and view the "Comments", you will see any information I imbedded in the file when I saved it to the website.

1/25/2011 5:59:20 PM | Awesome, dude. Just like we talked about too. 🙂 Too bad I didn't realize you were actually placing that info in the photo directly. I guess I shoulda looked. Just heard back from Art too. I'll try putting it all together here shortly. When I'm done everyone should notice a slight difference on our home page. 🙂 Ed.

2/6/2011 12:31:47 PM | Ok then that is that, but it sure looks like his son-in-law, am glad that he identified it. I sent an email to Jake Shepard and asked him to look at the photo and see if he can identify anyone. Thanks Don
