1. I understand, from staff members of the National Archives and the Air Force Historical Research Agency, Maxwell AFB, that all the 401BG original documents are the holdings of the National Archives, and from time-to-time, are 'on-loan' to other agencies (like AFHRA, Maxwell AFB). For example, the NARA's WWII AAF still picture collection were 'on-loan' to the Smithsonian (National Air & Space Museum) but has since returned to NARA II, College PArk, Md.
2. Pictorial History 'scrapbook': Could the 'scrapbooks' referred to be the fore-runner of the 'Bluebook' (prior to the Bluebook actually being published at War's end).? Just a guess.
