Michael Annis 4/23/2003 12:52:52 AM | I would appreciate any information that anyone would have about Lt. R. A. Annis, Pilot of B17G - "Satan's Chillen", Aircraft #43-37706, 401st Bomb Group, 613th Bomb Squadron Thank you, Michael annis |
Scott McElvain 4/23/2003 10:03:33 AM | First, thanks for the serial number. Books on nose art haven't connected the nose art with a specific serial number. First, look off the home page for the crew listings. Lt. Annis's crew is listed with missions and planes flown when known. There are negatives in the National Archives of some of the planes. If you are interested in getting photos, let me know. I can tell you negative numbers and there are messages on the board on how to contact the Archives and order photos. |
Jack Reid 4/24/2003 4:22:49 AM | There is a site at:http://www.doubledelta.com/7wars1.htm, that appears to have a picture of the Satan's Chillen crew (crew #3) - they also have other 401st 612th/613th crew photos - the only other named ship is "Grin'N'Bare it" - they also have a photo of Marlene Dietrich entertaining at the 401st in September '44 |
