Since Don mentioned the items that are still for sale and that Josie was so nice to handle them I have wondered what others thought about having a link on one of the web site pages that made finding this info so much easier. I guess I thought this way the items would be available at all times and not just at the reunions. Would it also be easier to reorder some things and keep them in stock..just a thought to help the 401st earn more money....

Go to the General forum, Jackie. It's second from the top.

Perhaps it would be useful to have it on the main website too, as a section under the Our Association tab for example.

All the best,
Paul

Ed & Paul,

I guess I did not explain it right..just a senior moment. Paul was correct in what I was trying to suggest. I had thought that someone may visit the web site, but not browse through the entire forum as they might only be interested in specific areas.

I think the items offered are very nice and I am working on an order with Josie. But I had missed the forum post (as others might) about the items until looking for Christmas presents for my nephew. When Don told me where to look it gave me additional ideas for Christmas gifts and that is how I came up with the idea of a link off the main site.

I really like the idea of earning as much money as we can for the 401st.

Ed & I have discussed this a couple of days ago so we are looking at it just didn't put anything on the forum about it.

Yep, we discussed a couple of days ago.

At the moment, I'm trying to figure how fly-out menus broke, so I haven't done anything about it yet. I'm also looking into replacing the menus with a "lighter" version. I'll put a link up there when I get a moment.

Where did the Fly-out menu break? I didn't notice anything.

The fly-outs in the Gallery menu. They work fine under Internet Exploder, but not so good in FireFox or Chrome.

Were working fine in Firefox until recently, but not now.

Paul,

I use Fire Fox and I have not had this problem yet. Will let everyone know if it happens.

Jackie,

I know that the GREAT MINDS involved in this website will eventually have a section for the PX or an online store but there are other factors to consider and they are all busy bees. I mentioned to Ed awhile back that I think the set up we have now is working OK and when time permits, something more visible and functional can be set up. Prior to our next reunion would be a good time so we can point to the online store if we run low on stock at the reunion. I can restock items within a couple of weeks. Over time, I know we will get there. The PFG pointed to the PX items in the forums and many items were listed and pictured in the PFG as well so most members know that product is available and many sales have resulted from this since the reunion.

After this past reunion I posted what the plan was followed by photos of what is available. Much like you suggested, it's to take any leftover product from the reunion and make it available between reunions turning a profit for the group. I have reordered T-shirts in two sizes in small quantities that sold out and added the original style hat that was intended for the reunion. The manufacturer sent the wrong hats but it was too late to fix that at the reunion. Some like mesh anyway in the hotter states so it was fine for them. Until we have an "online store", we did not want to reorder too much and we will have a new T-shirt design at each reunion with some carry forward for those that want the old. Too much inventory on the shelf is never good for us financially and I can reorder as often as needed on those items that move more quickly. Those bears you wanted were at the last three reunions and no one was buying them. After I put the pins on them they sold but it's not a big seller even though I agree, they are very cute and cuddly!

In any case, thank you so very much for your support and your recent order! Along with what you saw in the PX Photo post we also have Polo Shirts available in another post (same section) that you can access under what I have posted. (I think) 😉 I may just email you a photo of those...

Josie 🙂
