Knight of the 401st Bomb Group (H) Historical Society U.K. asked if I would kindly place an appeal on this website to try and trace any relatives of the crew of B-17G 42-97872 "Rosies Sweat Box" 401st BG (H) 614th BS which tragically crashed on take-off on the 17th September 1944. It was Paul Knight who was instrumental in the erection of the small memorial close to the spot where the aircraft crashed.
