Paul F. Knight of the 401st Bomb Group (H) Historical Society U.K. asked if I would kindly place an appeal on this website to try and trace any relatives of the crew of B-17G 42-97872 "Rosies Sweat Box" 401st BG (H) 614th BS which tragically crashed on take-off on the 17th September 1944.
It was Paul Knight who was instrumental in the erection of the small memorial close to the spot where the aircraft crashed. Paul would dearly like to hear from any of the relatives and although not on the internet he can be contacted at the address below.
