National WWII Memorial, Wash., DC, (Website) 'Registry of Remembrances' http://www.wwiimemorial.com - Open to all U.S. WWII Service personnel; - Registration is free (on-Line or by U.S. Mail); - Photos can be added (for a $10.00 fee); St.Paul's Cathedral, London, American Memorial's 'Roll of Honou http://www.stpaulscathedral.org.uk - Ornate vellum book, presented by 'Ike' July 4, 1951, at St.Paul's dedication of the 'The American Memorial Chapel', containing the names of Americans who lost their lives while stationed in England during WWII. Each day, a clergy dons a white glove, opens the glass case and turns one-page of the fragile vellum book. - A 'second' copy at St.Paul's is accessible by pre-arrangement through the Cathedral's Chapter House and Virger guides; - The 'Roll of Honour' names are 'Searchable' on their Website (where a CD/DVD version is also available for sale); - Recently (2008?) St.Paul's Bookstore (& Website) offered a CD/DVD version of the Roll of Honour for sale. - Generally a 'closed' list and document; however St.Paul's indicates name omissions found are 'periodically' added where supporting documents warrant. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor (Website and 'Hall-based') 'Roll of Honor' http://www.thepurpleheart.com - The NPH-HoH is part of the Palisades Interstate Park system in both New York and Jew Jersey; - Enrollment is free, including photos (on-Line or by U.S. Mail) for both their 'On-line' and 'Hall-based' Roll of Honor versions; Roll of Honor features: - The 'On-line' version is searchable and can include a photo of the Registrant; and - The 'Hall-based' version can accommodation up to 5-pages of additional information and images about the Registrant; - Enrollee without an 'official' Purple Heart award letter, certificate or name-engraved Medal are encouraged to call the NPH-HoH (845) 561-1765 to discus possible alternative documents that are available that may be submitted (for NPH-HOH review). Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum: Roll of 8thAAF Honor & 8th Air Force Veterans’ Database http://www.mightyeighth.org - The 'Roll of Honor' is a Book on display in the Museum, containing the 8thAAF names who lost their lives during WWII. It is based upon (and the names are gathered from) the 'Roll of Honour' in St. Paul's Cathedral, London; - The '8th Air Force Veterans' Database' is an on-going attempt to collect and establish a complete roster of 8th Air Force Veterans (because none presently exists). - Roll of Honor: - - Generally, a closed document, we understand omitted names, once verified, are added periodically; - - Via our E-mail request 10/2010, the Museum is checking if all KIA 1st.Lt. A.J. Nelson Crew names are included; - - We have yet to learn the requirements or process to add names (that were found omitted) '8th Air Force Veterans' Database' features: - Registration is free (On-line, Mail or in-person) and is encourages (to build the database).
