6/30/2008 2:17:29 PM | Looking for any information of the above crew which were part of the 615th Bomb Squadron.
They were lost on the 26th March 44', however, can anyone give me any information on the crew themselves, or know where each member came from in the USA ?.
Also I have been looking for pictures of the aircraft they were lost in, Omar The Dentmaker, can anyone help regarding this ?.(42-37833)

Assuming that you haven't checked already, I'd look here and here.
Then I'd suggest you look at the MACR reports, but as I have little experience with them, I'll wait for Don or Paul to comment.

9/12/2010 10:31:38 PM | I know your original post is a couple years old. I hope this information is still useful. My Dad was the Bombardier on Captain Rumsey's crew, one of two people who survived when the plane was downed. He finished the war in Stalag Luft I. I have two pictures in my den of a training plane that Dad flew in while they were stationed in Montana; one of the pictures is signed by each of the crew. Dad was from Seattle; he lived his entire life there, except for the war. The only other crew member I remember him telling me about, geographically, was the radio operator who was from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Actually, I just looked at it for the first time in some time, and it does have the home town of each crew member.

9/13/2010 3:41:37 PM | The one thing I got out of the page was the names of the crew and I have added them to our photo, which is the same photo, so now they are identified. The web page is a very nice tribute to your father.

Capt William Rumsey, or Bill Jr, was my dad's cousin. I knew Bill Rumsey Sr, his father, and used to hang out at their house in Old Folsom as a kid.
Anyhow, dad passed away recently and I've become keeper of the old family photos. I believe I saw photos of the crew and plane as a kid, and will begin searching through large boxes of photos in June. If any of you are interested, I'll circle back and post any photos I might find.

5/26/2011 5:15:32 PM | As Group Historian I of course would be interested in photos and especially B-17 photos which show Nose Art or A2 Jacket Art. By chance did you Dad have an A2 jacket or do you have a way to get a color photo>

I would be interested. My uncle was Robert Kaercher. I have a number of pictures (crew, burial site in Bouqumaison etc..) Most of it is out there already. I would be interested in what you find.
