                                    <td style='vertical-align: top;'>I would tend to think that the initial aircraft to fly over in late 1943 were B17G models. One of these aircraft 4231072 the Betty J was a G model with a chin turret B17G-1-BO made by Boing and delivered to the group on 7 September 1943. It may have origionally been started as an F but was modified with a chin turret and subsequentely designated as a B17G. There was an F model on the group roster which was used as a &quot;hack&quot; whatever that may mean.<br></td>
