Just recieved a copy from the National Archives of a POW file, flexo-line, that listed my grandfather as a POW. I can interpret most everything on the file, but some I do not understand. I have posted this question on other boards without much help, hopefully you guys can help.
After his name, serial #, etc., it lists a date (3/29/45), not sure what this date is since he was taken prisoner on 6/25/44.
Another entry reads, AMB11371. Any ideas on this?
And at the end it reads Stg L3-N. Obviously it is Stalag Luft 3, but what is the "N" for?

The N may refer to Stalag Luft III's last location (prior to its liberation by troops from GEN Patton's 3rd Army) - Nuernberg.

I think the N may mean Stalag Luft North. I know the camp was divided into at least two parts. One North and the other South.
