When Windham was shot down on the mission of May 28, 1944 all of his crew were with him, except Stephens. He was replaced by Floyd Miller, who was killed in action.
Does anyone know if Stephens was removed from flying status, or that he just stood down for this one mission for some reason?? I am also very interested to locate Stephens or his relatives.
Sincerely,
Ivo de Jong
(The Netherlands)
|}
