| OK, so... I'm researching the mission for my presentation at the next reunion and have some questions that need answering.<br/> <br/> First thing is that I'm piecing together a narrative that describes the events of that mission. One thing that comes up is that the group's low box seemed to suffer some mild misfortune owing to the loss of their lead plane. According to the mission report, the group was a bit strung out initially, up until a formation of fighters attacked. The seem to have tightened their formation then. The group appears to have been strung out by the loss of the lead plane and after the deputy lead took over. <br/> <br/> What I'm trying to figure out is who was the lead and who was the deputy. What I'm not yet clear on is the nature of the loss. My candidates are 42-102394 IW-C Down 'n Go which lost some time before target and 42-31591 IN-J Homesick Angel which took damage, dumped bombs and returned home. | Yes I agree with Paul and with E/A 1st wave seemed to have downed A/C prior to target.  102394 was from the Lead Box with 511 & 344 from the low box.  42-31591 took heavy damage and dumped bomb load and returned to England. <br/><br/>Sgt. | I noticed at the end of Mission 132 there are 4 documents that belong to Mission 133 and dated 25 Aug 1944....
