It is possible to find that at this site <br/> [http://aad.archives.gov/aad/series-list.jsp?cat=WR26]  <br/> <br/> The Freedom of Information act allows Next-of-kin & others can request information on veterans who were Killed in Action, (KIA), and in many cases, can get a detailed file on the handling of the body from the time of death until burial in a U.S. Military cemetery and/or removal to the U.S., and in some cases, information on where the body was re-interred in the U.S.A. <br/> <br/> This information is contained in an "Individual Deceased Personnel File  (I.D.P.F.), and may be obtained as follows: <br/>  <br/>  <br/>    Write to the agency below, requesting the "IDPF". on: Veteran's full name; Army Serial #; Unit if known; date and place of death if known; and your relationship to the deceased veteran.<br/> <br/>    The more details that are furnished, the quicker they can research this information and reply to you. | Agree 100% ! <br/> <br/> Since WWII personnel records are so 'scarce', all Kin of KIA should avail themselves of this free and valuable resource.  <br/> <br/> IDPFs include a lot and varied info that may help Families 'fill-in blanks' about their Kin's service.<br/> <br/> For us, its form I-380, listing training dates & locations, was particularly helpful.<br/> <br/> Good hunting <br/><br/><br/>

| Mid-2017 I learned (from Army HRC) that IDPFs are now at the National  Archives, Suitland, MD.  I don't know when the change actually occurred.  As always, good hunting.   <br/> <br/> "Mr. Bryson - <br/> As per where you may obtain the documentation, the only place that will have the Posthumous actions is the National Archives in Suitland, Maryland.  This archival location stores the "Individual Deceased Personnel Files" (IDPFs) on MIA and KIA service members.  (These are separate files from the Official Military Personnel Files (OMPF) maintained at the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC)).  The IDPFs will have all correspondence and documentation related to the final disposition of specific service member records.  In this case there will be separate IDPFs for each of the crew, i.e., 9 IDPFs.  In each file, correspondence from the TAG and other War/Army Departments with the family will be found.  To order these documents, you would need to go to the National Archives.
