My first reunion was in 2000 where I met him and was able to observe him and others who had a passion with the 401st Bombardment Group and I was surely impressed of such dedication. Following reunions just confirmed my understanding of dedication to a cause with my election to the Board of Directors in 2006 and recently to Group Historian. George has showed us all how to remember and he will be missed by us all. My thoughts and prayers to the family of such a man. Condolences Don Byers

11/6/2009 11:31:56 AM | Thanks for everything, George. And say hello to 'Rainbow' for us when you see him. Before 401st Association membership was opened-up, George, 'Mr. Security', generously and graciously allowed me to 'stowaway' and attend (some open functions at) a 401st Reunion. I had 'bugged' him, for some time prior, for (any) info about my 613Sq Uncle and his 'Nelson' Crew (KIA), and he patiently responded...He always responded. With official NPRC records destroyed, George became my 'resource guru' until the Internet exploded on the scene (much to George's relief, probably), but if 'stuck', ask George still worked...in 2009. Regretfully, he'll miss the Sevannah Reunion 'in-body', but I'm positive we'll see him there 'in-spirit'. The question remaining for us mortals left behind is: What 10-folks are going to work together to do...what he did? The Navy's signal salute for this is 'Bravo Zulu': Well done, George, well done. Thanks again, Win & Nancy Bryson for the 613Sq Nelson Crew
