And which markings are you refering to. Such as IN which is the desigation/call letters for the 613th BS of the 401st Bomb Group. The last letter "C" would be the position that son of Blitz flew in formation. Triangle S is the designation for the 401st Bomb Group.

Would love a copy of this information.

Donald Byers
Board Member 401st BG

Sgt. Donald C. Particilarly as it relates to 'Son of A Blitz' and the 613Sq.
- - 'Son of A Blitz' 42-31081, 'IN-C' was one of the original B-17s that 'went to England' with the 401st in 1943.
- - The 613Sq. 'Fowler Crew' ferried it to England, and used it during early missions. It was 'camo' colored.
- - 10/3/1944 'Son of A Blitz was lost to Flak over the target Politz, with it's 613Sq. 1st.Lt. A.J. Nelson Crew, which included my Uncle, Radioman S/Sgt. J.T. Dorris.

I'll contact you via E-mail with more. The only photo so-far of 'Son of A Blitz. we've found is it's 'tail', part of the 'Keep 'Em 'Flying' collage photo about Ground Crews and their work (National Archives 65611AC).

Wow!
Win Bryson

|- | '''win-win'''

2/24/2009 11:37:30 AM | FYI:
Son of A Blitz' missions:
The homepage 'hot' topics has some mission info about a/c 42-31081 (although no 'source' is cited to confirm authenticity).
Win

|}
